Ed Phillips started evangelizing for and promoting as well as using and contributing to Open Source software in the 90's. He has published a number of essays on Free and Open Source software and was a contributor to the O'Reilly published "Practical mod_perl" in 2003.

Mr. Phillips founded Phosphene with the express purpose of assisting businesses achieve real results by using the best of breed open source tools, frameworks, and stacks as well as best practices.

Phosphene was an early adopter of a number of open source frameworks and toolsets, and Phosphene has had significant success at choosing tools and frameworks as well as paradigms that have since grown into wide adoption.
